Hi,
of course the architect is not allowed to include the entire building in the eligible costs, but may add renovation surcharges. And that is a good thing. Planning a renovation/extension often requires more effort than executing a new build.
However, the building fabric to be processed may be included.

I'm sorry, but I have to get this off my chest....... why do you sign any piece of paper without knowing what is in it? The explanation "I need the signature, otherwise I can't measure" is, well

Regards

I would like to add this sentence:

So be very careful. And don't sign anything that you haven't read AND UNDERSTOOD.

Otherwise, I agree with the statement from Bauexperte regarding the arbitration board. You can achieve a lot through it.

Thank you for your answers and hints.

Of course, we do not sign anything without reading it through. But these nested sentences and references to § anyway, a normal mortal citizen just can’t make sense of that. For this reason, we also take larger contracts to the consumer advice center, but with an architect, we assumed a reasonable amount. All acquaintances around us have paid humane architect fees. A new build for a single-family house for 6000€ or an extension of a building for 2500€. But no one paid 35,000€ to renovate a semi-detached house and add a conservatory.

I don’t know what you mean by “cross.” A building application was submitted. And we were informed that this was the wrong type of application since there is a development plan and only an approval procedure needs to be initiated. Thus, the building application was withdrawn, and an approval procedure was initiated and approved.

Then we will try it through the arbitration board. Is there a difference between the Architects’ Chamber and the Engineers’ Chamber? Or is it the same body?
