I want to give a few tips again within the scope of DIY, so that building houses isn't so expensive. Or the renovation – that is, renovating the house and not fighting against it to create something new at high cost.
Initial situation: 1960s house with the outdoor area from the year of construction
Target image: cozy terrace situation (40sqm) with a manageable budget and a ground-level exit from the fireplace room
It didn't look really nice when bought... (not just the terrace, also the planting in front of it)

So first, the necessary renovations on the house were carried out so that the topic was at least settled...

Substructure made of old sidewalk slabs and concrete bags (floor screed moist in freezer bags) as well as rubber pads so that the wood does not stand in water)
NO slope, because the old terrace already has that. Thus, it will be a nicely straight terrace...

On top come Tatajuba decking boards, without visible screws...

The terrace is taking shape. A concrete pedestal will still be poured in the covered corner. That will be the new home of the grill...

Since the terrace is becoming a bit bigger, I had to support the load-bearing beams. Dug small holes in the slope, inserted KG pipes, and filled them with concrete. On top lies an aluminum bar leftover from the photovoltaic system. It fits and doesn’t need to be disposed of. Also attached a few vertical woods so that the vertical finish can be done...

Finished. In between, I also set a concrete base for the parasol (fixed terrace roofing is difficult given the building situation) and laid electricity under the terrace (5x2.5 / 5x6) as well as 32mm water pipes for the eventual replacement of the old garden irrigation. Also completely renewed the planting on the slope to the original situation.

The grill also feels at home...

Total costs for substructure, decking boards, fasteners, concrete, tiles, etc.: about €2,500
