Terrace roofing: fixed or flexible?

With a fixed roof, I would have chosen a glass roof with the option to extend an awning underneath.

So is a fixed roof or pergola awning the better choice because of the stability?

In summer, I would need about a 4m long awning to shade the entire table.

I am happy about our solid roof with a retractable awning. Furniture, grill, etc. can stay outside in winter. Garden shoes are by the door and not in the living room. And the cat also has a dry spot. And for the west sun in the evening, we also have a vertical awning. (otherwise you could only have dinner with squinted eyes) You need at least 4 meters depth. It should be noted that in Saxony, a building application is required from 3 meters depth.
