Hello everyone,

I am in the process of planning our terrace, but I am not quite sure yet, maybe you can help me with that :-)

At first, I had thought of a southwest terrace, but in the evening the sun on the west side doesn't really come through because of neighbors, so we would only benefit from it in the morning if the sun is too intense. Now I was thinking of leaving out the west terrace and later installing an awning on the south side.

In the attachment, you can see the different visions, along with photos of the current situation.

For the surface, I thought of using clinker pavers, to keep everything uniform with the driveway and pathways. (dark, because they match the facade)

There are 6 people in the household, and we also regularly have visitors.

What do you think, or which vision would you prefer?

So much dark pavement is a great heat reservoir. :D

Corner terrace is great. You can also use it well as a barbecue area.

However, dark stones are rubbish. Then you feel like the steak in the pan. Unless you use wood, which is much more pleasant and does not retain heat.

I wouldn't make the terrace that big. Even with six people and 2-4 guests, 20-30 sqm is more than enough. Variant 3 with over 70 sqm just seems totally excessive to me. There is absolutely nothing against placing a deck chair on the lawn. With the smaller terrace, the issue of heat storage is also reduced.

What I still find missing here is the surroundings. Does the terrace go right up to the boundary? Where will you plant trees, where is the play lawn, where are ornamental beds (if at all)? With the photos, it is also sometimes not entirely clear to me where they are located on the sketches.

The only one who can decide that is the builder. Because he already lives there and only he knows his preferences, “roasting” or rather shade or both or with or without an awning or even a terrace roof or or or… (You usually plan that already (at least roughly) together with the house…). —> Patio doors

What about the dog sleeping place? ;)

I can’t make anything out of the flipbook either…
