Hi everyone,

we will soon decide how to build our terrace and how to construct our driveway.

We have no ideas and are a bit in the dark about it.

Especially with the terrace.....what should you choose? (Costs?, maintenance effort, stability?)

Best regards Barossi

We faced the same problem and have now decided on clinker pavers

On the list were:

    [*]Clinker pavers (+relatively inexpensive; €30 / sqm, +very durable, - many joints).

[*]Ceramic composite (+few joints, - significantly more expensive; €60-80 / sqm)
[*]Concrete pavers (+cheap €15-25 / sqm, - not very colorfast, - many joints)
[*]Natural stone puzzle (+interesting look, durable, - high installation effort)
[*]Natural stone (+durable, - moderately more expensive; €40-50 / sqm)
[*]Wood (+has something, - weather sensitive)

This is not a scientific treatise claiming universal validity. Unfortunately, nothing has been laid yet - the garden landscaper has postponed for a week - hope he will come next week now.

In this category, you will also find a few discussions and reports of experience. Take a look at "Was kostet der Garten" and "Erfahrungen mit Steinen und Platten von Rinn" - Rinn is top, or something like that. Quite a bit has already been discussed there. Greetings from Lille, I’m off to cheer on our national team now

Hello,

many thanks for the great overview!

I also find the (vertically laid) clinker paving stones very nice.
How about height differences due to the relatively small individual surfaces? Do chairs and tables wobble?

Best regards, Barossi

I hope that the landscape gardener does it properly

Otherwise, we'll probably have to live with it - we'll see. We have chosen very nice benches (so single-trunk from the forest) and a matching table.

Did you also order the terrace and driveway? Then please post pictures when everything is finished or, even better, before/after.
