We will soon need a construction site power distributor. We can either collect offers for the rental, delivery, and installation... or buy it ourselves (used, eBay, or eBay Classifieds, for example) and have it installed, and then sell it again. Which is the best/cheapest solution?

What kind of construction site power distributor do we need? 63A / 32A / 16A or 400V? With or without a meter? How big/heavy is it, can I pick it up/transport it myself by car, or do you need a truck? Of course, I will not install it myself (I am not an electrician), otherwise have it installed by a professional.

Who will do the installation/connection, the utility company, or "our" regular electrician??

Thanks, and bye,

The construction power distributor is usually brought by the contractor. Now it depends on from whom you get the electricity, from the neighbor or from the energy supplier.

Hello Knöpfchen, no, our construction contractor has already informed us that we have to provide and install the construction power box ourselves, regardless of which company. Meanwhile, I have already bought a used construction power box myself. I still need the cables. Who does the installation, the electrician from [or] the construction company, or the utility company ???????????

Do you mean a construction power box? It is applied for at the energy supplier, connected by the local electrician, and set up. Then you pay for the electricity and the rent for the unit.

Hello, construction power and construction power box are the same, I think. No, construction power is applied for from the energy supplier, but not the construction power box.

It may be handled differently depending on the supplier. At our company EWE, the temporary construction power is requested by the builder, then the supplier installs a connection column, then the electrical company comes, who has a key and the completion notification for the column and connects the construction kit. The meter is located in the connection column installed by the supplier.
