Hello everyone,

we are currently examining the feasibility of a renovation project for a two-family house. We newly built from 2020 to 2022. Since then, a lot has changed in the funding landscape and we have had nothing to do with renovations so far. I am currently having difficulty getting an overview of possible funding that we could use for 2 residential units. Are there any forum members who are currently familiar with the funding products for renovation projects and can tell us which funding we could realistically claim at once? It is a solidly built existing property from 1965. The building fabric looks good at first glance. Which KfW standard is realistically achievable and still funded? And individual measures such as windows cannot then be combined with KfW funding?

Oops. There are lots of subsidies. Individual measure Various efficiency levels Tax benefits I have renovated a similar year of construction to KfW 55. At least formally. Actually closer to 40, but that becomes really difficult mathematically. Basement present? Makes it much easier than if you lack height on the floor slab for insulation.

A basement is available. It is partially finished as well. My goal would also have been KfW 55. But there are different levels within KfW 55 renovation, aren't there?

Are there any additional grants to be expected in advance when applying for KfW loans? Or is that not combinable? Funding for individual measures is completely excluded if I do everything in one go, isn't it?

I am also interested in the question. Maybe someone can explain it with an example. Let's say the following costs would be incurred for the renovation of the house in question:

Roof including insulation 60k
Facade insulation 50k
Insulating the basement ceiling 10k
New windows 25k
Heat pump 30k
Ventilation system 20k
Underfloor heating 25k
= 220k

--> Whether the numbers are realistic should not matter here. They are only for the example.

Which combinations of KFW261, KFW458, and BAFA individual measures would be possible here and which would not, and why?

We are renovating a farmhouse from 1857 to KfW 70 EE - have a loan of 152,500 through the KfW.
We are having the windows subsidized through BAFA individual measures.
You can combine both, but the costs must not be claimed twice. Therefore, we are not allowed to claim the costs for the windows with the KfW.
For an EE status, the heating must be processed through the KfW loan.

You need an energy consultant both for KfW 261 and BAFA individual measures. They will be able to advise you on the funding products and their combinability.
