I will soon face a similar problem and since I read something about sun sails here, I would be interested to know how to attach this on the house side?

Our terrace (southwest) is on the inside of an L-shaped house, so 3 anchoring points would be on the house wall. But this is a modern house with 24cm insulation. How do I secure something there? I found a special anchor from Fischer, but it is very expensive and most anchoring points have 3 holes, so that makes at least 9 anchors.

What do you understand by expensive? A corresponding adhesive anchor also costs money. In any case, you should embed it in the concrete of the ceiling or in the ring beam.

The set of 8x Fischer Thermax for ETICS costs at least €220. Then another single one will be added, since apparently 9 are needed. Although in the end I will probably need even more anyway, because I still have to fasten the canopy and the side wall to the canopy (that’s another 8-12 such dowels/anchors).

I had a similar situation at the house and definitely did not want an awning, but a sunshade that could stay outside at least for the entire season. I decided on a sun sail. Two large U-bolts welded by a locksmith anchored in the house wall. Two stainless steel posts with a 10 cm edge length concreted in front of the terrace. A storm-proof and waterproof sun sail from a sailmaker. Tensioning with stainless steel cables and cable tensioners of appropriate tensile strength. The whole thing has now been in use for over 15 years, has proven itself technically, and in my opinion also looks very stylish. The sail is mounted in April and taken down again in October.

The sail cost around 600 EUR back then, the stainless steel work another 400.

We have an electric sun sail, it was important to us to be able to precisely adjust the extension, feet in the sun, head in the shade
