Hello dear ones,
maybe I should briefly introduce myself as a newcomer in this group:
male, 58 years old, "home-Ikea" Duisburg.
A few weeks ago, I noticed that the Pax wardrobes in birch were slowly disappearing from online ordering. Try to order a 100x35x201 corpus in birch. It doesn’t work.
But since I am now starting to renew my bedroom with Pax, I didn’t like that at all. A nice lady at the hotline explained to me after some “hemming and hawing” that IKEA is announcing a successor to Pax in an internal email. The date given was March 1st. However, the lady told me that such announcement dates usually get postponed by weeks. She advised me not to start with my wardrobe now. The new Pax are somewhat more modern in design, rounder, younger. AND, they are not compatible with the old corpuses. “So if you buy the 3.5 meter corpuses now, it may happen that in half a year you want to buy the doors afterwards (that was exactly what I had planned!) and find out that the new doors do not fit the old corpuses.” For this sentence I thanked her very much.
Has anyone of you heard anything similar? Since I think IKEA introduces the news first in Sweden, I keep watching the Swedish homepage constantly, but so far there is nothing new there either. Now I have decided to wait.
Best regards
