Hello people =)

I would like to have my stairs including the railing renovated, but how or where should I have that done best?

Railing preferably made of stainless steel and stairs made of granite.
There are 4 floors that I would like to make look a bit more modern,
since we are currently renovating the house...

What could that roughly cost? And which companies would you recommend for me to make an inquiry with, since there are lots of them.

Best regards =)

At the moment, they look like this:

Hi!

When modernizing, I would start with the radiators.

Otherwise, I would estimate about 5,000 euros per floor. Of course, you can make the whole thing significantly more expensive by using the appropriate type of granite.

Personally, it wouldn't be worth that much money to me. You could rather make the existing staircase a bit nicer and spend the rest elsewhere - but I'M poor anyway.

Regards,
Tom.

PS. Someone will probably offer you such a staircase super cheap - and then cobble it together super cheap as well.

you gave me a nice idea =)

so I'll take off the red bars (grind them off) then sand the paint off with a sanding machine

or

I'll put a stainless steel tube over it (slightly larger diameter) let's see how many bars there are (because of the cost per stainless steel tube) ... maybe I'll also remove every second green bar...

maybe then weld a few thin stainless steel bars crosswise (not sure)

the blue tinted part is just a theory for now... looks like this (not well edited sorry)

might be that I just make every green bar in stainless steel look and that's it =) (simpler solution and maybe the best one).

only now I don't know how to do the handrail =(
so I don't want the black (rubber-like) one anymore.
you suggested doing it with wood (sounds great)
but how should I solve that? (because of the curve).

would be very grateful for a tip =)
of course I'll make a before/after picture in the end.

best regards =)

EVERYTHING gone!

hello@tom tom 1

I don’t know what your profession is or whether you have any idea what you are suggesting here. You can’t just grind something off a freestanding staircase railing. The railing certainly has a static or supporting function. So please refrain from such suggestions where other people could get into trouble. Such things can only be responsibly dealt with by a structural engineer or possibly a master staircase builder.
