Hello everyone,

who already has a drawer for spices in the kitchen and can advise me?

The kitchen is basically fully planned. I can decide whether I want a 15 cm or a 30 cm high drawer for the spices under the cooktop.
With 15 cm, you don't really have 15 cm of effective internal height, more like 12-13 cm.
(Nolte Küche)
I have a lot of spices that don't belong to any system or brand, so they are in very different containers. (I don't want to lay the spice tins down.)

If I take the 15 cm drawer, some larger spice mills and large shakers for dried herbs would certainly have to go into a cabinet next to it.
That would also work, but I would find it great if you open one drawer and first have an overview of everything you could use.
If the drawer were 30 cm deep, there would certainly be room for all sizes, but a lot of height space would be wasted.

Best regards

What else do you want to do with the space under the stove? Pots also fit in a 50 cm drawer under the 30 cm drawer. Take the 30 cm and be happy Otherwise, you wouldn’t be it, you can tell from that.

Hello,

I have both 15 cm and 30 cm – with the next kitchen everything will be different!

You write that you like to have an "overview" of the spices; let me assure you, in my opinion you don’t really have this overview. You look from above at the white and brown lids (not every one has a label on the lid); maybe also at the restock, as I keep it in the drawer. Although I am sure to always put used spices back in their place, it still happens again and again that I reach for the wrong spice. Also – at least that was/is the case with me – the drawer fills up more and more and with that the overview visibly diminishes.

Therefore – in the next kitchen I will get one or two tall cabinets; baking utensils also need to be stored

Rhenish greetings

I keep my spices in a (Nolte) drawer and am very satisfied. I will take some measurements and send you a photo.

First of all, I would not put spices under the cooktop. Especially with induction, quite a bit of heat develops there. Under the cooktop, I would always rather store cooking utensils, wooden spoons, etc. in a drawer. Spices should be stored in the drawer next to the cooktop. Then rather only up to max. 60 cm wide. One drawer AND one pull-out. And spices can also be labeled from above.

We also have a Nolte kitchen and our spices are in a normal 60 cm wide drawer next to the cooktop. works wonderfully Under the cooktop we have all the cooking utensils you need in the drawer and below that is the double-height ingredient drawer with all the important things And why not two drawers
