There are silicate paints that are significantly cheaper than good dispersion paints and vice versa. Without product specification, this cannot be answered.

I just want to point out that most dispersion paints today already contain a silicate component. I have silicate paint myself, don’t know if I would do it again.... however, I also have a bone-dry house, so it’s hard to judge. Dispersion paint definitely applies better.

Good morning, I have had the two data sheets of the paints sent to me. It concerns the following paints:

Dispersionsfarbe: Brillux Malerweiß ELF 956
Silikatfarbe: Brillux Profisil 1906

The data sheet for the dispersionsfarbe states: "corresponds in diffusion behavior, like interior silicate paints, to class I according to DIN EN ISO 7783"

--> Is the extra cost for the silicate paint even worth it? (€1400 net)

Thanks in advance for a brief assessment!

I'd rather sink the money elsewhere. The surcharge is steep. How many square meters was it again, 1400?

About 200 m² area... yes, exactly 1400 € net is the surcharge for that.

Well, it’s fine again for that. Silicate paint is additionally mold-resistant, if I remember correctly. But for a modern new build, it’s actually not necessarily needed. Do you have ventilation?
