Hello everyone,

can someone tell me how much space is approximately needed to turn around in 2-3 moves (180 degrees)? I haven't really found much about this on the internet. Unfortunately, our space is not so great in terms of access, and we need a relatively long driveway. The question is whether we can even manage to turn around in front of the garage or not. Attached is a current plan of how I roughly imagine it.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Do you have snow there? Then just drive the car to an empty snow-covered parking lot, find an untouched corner without tracks in the snow and do a U-turn. Then measure. Add a safety margin depending on whether the car has parking sensors or not. And also remember that the car will change over the years. But can't you just drive out backward then?

You could also move the garage further to the south, so bring it forward.
Driveway then from the SE. Then you would have free traffic in both directions, so you could turn around over the garage (enter from the left, exit to the right)
I know, there will be doubting remarks like "Garage should be at the house" and "Garage in the nice south?", but it is simply like this: the property offers it this way before planning something too tight. Unfortunately, it can also be the yard that you regret later because it does not work.

With the note "the history of this thread can be found at " you might, in my opinion, make it easier for the discussants to assist you.

First of all, thank you very much for your answers. Unfortunately, we no longer have any snow here at the moment, but as soon as that changes, I will go and measure or, if necessary, do it without.

The garage has to be attached to the house; anything else is a no-go for my partner. I would like to avoid reversing out if possible.

We have thought a lot back and forth about the driveway and location (see - thanks 11ant!) and would like to place it that way for several reasons (if that is possible – the geologist and surveyor will now become active).
