Since we are facing a similar decision, the provider of the solid wood house offered us the chance to visit a nearly completed solid wood house of a colleague on a warm day, so that we can get an impression of it. The outside temperature was 25°C and when we entered the house, it was pleasantly cool inside. One room on the ground floor was somewhat warmer, but this room was not shaded during the day. The attic had roughly the same temperature as the ground floor. In this respect, I can only agree with , shading plays a major role. In my opinion, the material of the wall is secondary.
Of course, the wall construction is important in both variants. In this solid wood house, the wooden wall thickness is 200mm + 120mm wood fiber insulation boards. Alternatively, we have the option to go for 240mm wooden wall thickness. This should of course help against noise and heat.
