... so if there are very large glazed areas, control via the weather forecast is an absolute must, as the heating load and thus the room temperature at +5° with wind and rain is greater than at -10° with bright sunshine. A control based purely on the outside temperature absolutely cannot achieve this.
Hello,
I have a somewhat different opinion on this. The self-regulating effect of underfloor heating should not be overestimated, but it does contribute to temperature equalization to some extent, as the heat is transferred somewhat to the "shady" rooms. Secondly, the controlled residential ventilation also helps to balance things out to some degree. And, this is also a prerequisite for targeted planning, shading plays a major role – especially with a lot of glass.
Before I start fiddling here with weather-forecast-based control and some iPhone apps, I simply lower the blinds when there is strong sunlight – or if necessary, controlled by a sensor. We, with a southwest orientation, also have a lot of glass on this side and we simply manage with blinds. Together with the self-regulating effect of underfloor heating and controlled residential ventilation, this works very well.
Best regards
