You don't have to pay, no question. It's neither your property nor is there a written contract. Verbal...? no, that doesn't really count in the context of "private individual hires company."

On the other hand, a home builder wants to make as reliable an offer as possible, plan, etc. I guess there were already a few appointments and the home builder was given to understand that he would be chosen. Long story short: you shouldn't be surprised anymore if, without a signed contract, you soon won't even get a catalog handed out, let alone a proper exposure.

Aha; ask . He has built a whole house like that.

Oral agreements are always more difficult than written ones; but from a legal standpoint, there are no restrictions or special protections for this scenario.

That it also works this way when there is an agreement has not been questioned by me.

Purchase contracts between private individuals are, to my knowledge, the last form of the "oral contract" that is still given some significance in current case law. In all other transactions, nothing but sound and fury.

No; oral only really does not apply to the purchase of land/real estate as well as marriage and inheritance contracts.

One can even conclude rental agreements orally (but I think there was a limitation regarding the duration).

Still common practice in business.

In case of dispute, of course, oral is always difficult.

The roofer who was on our roof today also only received an oral order.

Mottenhausen, do you have a depot? Call to the bank, Mr. Wernersen, I think the VW will come back, buy me 500 preferred shares.
This is a contract that is executed and costs thousands.
