my unsecured facts (I am happy to hear alternatives) state the following: In recent years, logging has been conducted (out of necessity) in an exploitative manner so that despite bark beetle wood, there is a shortage of high-quality construction timber. This rather drives the price up.

So, back on topic: I believe it is possible. If the building window is confirmed (boundary construction allowed), then I can also imagine it financially. I would be happy to present my bill for my 128m² semi-detached house after completion. You would be able to see it then (if nothing else unforeseen comes up :rolleyes

Moreover, I can hardly imagine that beetle-infested wood is suitable for house construction.

The bark beetle rather exacerbates the problem with the supply of usable construction timber, doesn't it?

(sorry for off-topic)

Short off-topic answer. Public data is available from Statista or other government sources or industry associations. Prices have dropped drastically. This can also be found on Google. This also applies to construction timber. P.S. My own information comes from a large construction company that builds nationwide using wooden modular construction methods. Residential buildings and student apartments.

We spend a lot of time walking in forests. You only really see how many trees such a forest has(had) when they are stacked next to the forest paths. Bark beetle wood is fully usable as construction timber in terms of quality; it only has discolorations that do not impair its quality. The bark beetle ruins the price, but actually not today's price - rather the price of the years in which the windthrown trees under normal circumstances would have been harvested.

Hello superzapp,

thank you very much for your onTopic reply. I would love to take a look at your 128m² DH. Unfortunately, I can't send you a PM.

Best regards
Pascal
