Hello,
I have several problems with our small lifting system in the basement bathroom that my builder does not really take seriously and says, "It’s just how it is."
The system is a "FLOW CUT BOX CONEL," which the plumbing company selected independently (according to the construction specification, none was specifically defined). The system was planned by the designer to be placed in the room "behind" the bathroom, basically through the wall behind the toilet, where there is a basement room, so it does not disturb anyone (which is true). It serves the shower, toilet, and washbasin. Originally, the system was planned on the screed. However, since the shower would have required a high platform, the builder decided to place it on the raw floor and to leave out the screed around it. At the time, I was told it was a great idea and that this is how it is always done.
Now the current problems:
1. The system is very loud. However, this does not mean that the system itself is loud, but that the whole house vibrates. So when someone goes to the toilet in the basement, the system can be heard for 20 seconds upstairs. Since this is our basement bathroom next to the parents’ bedroom, this is especially annoying at night because the whole house is awake. (Detached house). The plumbing company then put a 1 cm thick mat underneath (the kind you also know from under washing machines), but without success. So it’s not only loud during the “chopping,” but the entire process is consistently noisy.
2. When the toilet flush is operated, a gurgling noise comes from the shower (Dallmer shower channel). When you look, you see water droplets on the floor around the shower channel.
3. Irregularly, a “gully smell” occurs in the bathroom, sometimes also in the basement behind it.
4. It was clarified by email at the time that the system would have a metal container in which it stands and which ensures that in case of a failure no water (or worse) gets onto the raw floor and spreads. However, it was executed without this, because no one wanted to know anything about it afterward. I was supposed to place a pond liner inside, which would be fine. Of course, this is not mentioned in the construction specification, but I assume that simply placing a tarp inside does not meet the state of the art, especially because it does not seal properly with the pipes.
Maybe much of it also has to do with the very thin pipe that goes upwards.
I have attached a picture to make it clearer.
The week after next, I have an on-site appointment with the bosses of both companies. I just want to be well prepared; they will probably tell me stories again...
Thanks for your input
