Not bad. Today we spoke with the 3rd architect out of 6. How did you choose yours? I'm really having a hard time...

Acquaintances and friends ask who they built with and how satisfied they were. If that is not possible, I would possibly also ask potential shell builders who they like to build with or if they can recommend someone.

In addition, the sympathy and gut feeling must of course be right. You won't really find out much more in a first short conversation.

However, I have read that in areas with many architects it is common, among other things, to have a free initial draft made. With us, however, that was not possible. Here, all architects immediately said that everything costs after the first conversation...

Is there anything new with you? Thanks for the tips!

Looks nice! Have you already made or changed any further plans? You wanted to reduce the costs again, right?

That sounds great - I also like open gables!

Is the granny flat staying?

But at first glance, I have a big criticism: the terrace is in the living area - and not only I (also ) think that a seating terrace should/must be near the kitchen. After all, in the evening when grilling or having a sundowner, you sit there, so the long way to the fridge can be annoying. The lounge chairs can also be placed further away from the house.

Regards

... yes, I would probably swap the dining/cooking area with the large living area.

I still find the dressing-bath-parent bedroom a bit unusual. Is a glass partition supposed to go between the bathroom and the sleeping area?

I no longer see a granny flat.

And in general, I actually think, how can you have a finished plan after 3 months? You want to spend a lot of money, so it really should be well thought out.

I planned my 66 sqm apartment over 3 years ... okay, because the landlord also took a long time. But basically, I'm glad because that way every plan could mature within me and I could make adjustments again. And, believe it or not, even with a 66 sqm apartment, you can plan at least 4 to 5 fundamentally different layouts. Plus the many variants ... I was at number 23. And now I've been living here for over 5 years and have never once thought, "oh, I should have done this or that differently." Great joy.
