Consider the furnishings of the rooms with the large floor-to-ceiling windows on the gable ends. In such cases, a regular window is often more practical.

Thanks for the tip.

They will be three-part windows.
Double sashes 1.5x1.5m and below that a fixed-glazed transom 1.5x0.75m. This way you can still place something in front (if desired) and still be able to open the windows.

In my opinion, a roof with a knee wall can only be sensibly insulated completely, that is with insulation between the rafters or another type of roof insulation. I find it difficult to imagine insulating only the slopes and not the rest of the roof. If it were a full story, I would insulate the floor, as it is easier and cheaper.

Guys, you’re talking like the blind man about color: 1) Insulating the ceiling and sloping wall only from below is no problem at all and the cheapest. 2) Install a good sealing attic hatch. 3) A plank covering on top, so you can walk above the insulation. Tongue and groove, not OSB. The tongue and groove breathes a bit. 4) You can store boxes with stuff like Christmas lights, baubles, winter shoes, etc. there really well. Nothing happens to that stuff in winter or summer. 5) I have a cold roof like that, we store all kinds of things there, even tools, garden cushions, etc. Nothing happens to them. Only now everything is cold and warm in summer. Karsten

If you only want a pure storage space in the attic and do not store temperature-sensitive items there, it is more sensible to insulate only the top floor ceiling. By the way, nowadays the floor hatches do not pull

Advantages:
- Cheaper to manufacture
- Less heated area, saves heating costs

If you want to convert the attic later, it is better to insulate the roof directly or if for any reason you want to have a heated room there.
