Single-family house - is a discount over 10% realistic?

The construction industry is stupid... They work with such a low profit margin that every driver laughs about it. You can be glad to get 2% discount afterwards on serious craftsman offers. In my experience, the name says it all at the building materials dealer. DEALER. Bring a second, cheaper offer and they adjust their prices... apparently they have a bigger margin....

Furniture store? Kitchen studio? There the initial price is always a great price and then there are the super-duper discounts. Btw, you get the service you pay for. Build cheap and buy cheap.

I would not feel comfortable with that. And since it's not the price that counts, but the gut feeling... it's clear who I would not choose. I consider 2150 to be appropriate. We had 1800 a few years ago. I always think: if the craftsmen are not properly paid, they get frustrated and take it out on the shell construction (peeing in the corner, cigarettes in the excavation pit, etc).

The "price" is strangely region-dependent. The South is not the North, and the East looks different again. And most certainly, the individual craftsmen at the end of the chain are not the ones making the big profits in the bubble. Or do you think that with the current 6%-10% surcharge for building in 2021 compared to 2020, the industry received a corresponding wage increase? It was even demanded, but the final agreement was oddly below that. It is definitely possible to make some adjustments on the price, since a hefty markup was applied before. But the valid question is – why is the provider giving the discount in the current market? Liquidity urgency has already been mentioned here. If similar behavior is not observed with other players, that suggests something. Or the order situation is indeed changing a bit. Very interesting.

I don't find anything strange about that. It was already like that when I joined this forum. The basic pricing system is different in the south than in the north, and different in the east than in the west. I believe that my plumber got a wage increase ;)

How much additional construction incidental costs come on top of that?
