You didn’t understand that. What is the OP supposed to make of your statement that this is definitely not an insurance case? Troll, not report to the insurer, withdraw the reported claim with a mea culpa, or what? You could also say: Possibly expect the insurer to reject it for xyz reasons. The gentleness you desired was the subject of my first response. Another user then reacted, saying this was a very typical insurance claim. The OP was pleased, that was probably what he wanted to hear. After that, I became more direct.
The OP should mentally prepare himself to at least bear most of the damage himself. The damage was avoidable and foreseeable. That is his responsibility as the builder. He can now ask the insurer, of course, trial makes wise. But I wouldn’t expect much from it.
