Should the path to the garage be made "slanting" or with a small "step"?!?

Hello everyone,
a little update. We have now set the curbstones. To avoid a step, the curbstones were laid flush with the endpoints at the platform and at the back on the curbstone towards the garage entrance.
The problem now is that we have significantly more slope than expected. At the platform, we have a height difference of just under 4cm from the upper to the lower curbstone... in the area of the garage entrance it is even about 6-7cm. To avoid a tripping edge, my wife would prefer to lay the path "slanted" like that. But I think a height difference of 4-6cm on a path width of just under 60cm is too much. Next weekend we will start laying it... curious to see how it will look. I had also already thought about trying to slope the path at the platform and keep it straight in the middle part. That will probably be difficult too, but I’m not really satisfied with any solution...

Yes, that sounds like a bit much for the narrow width.

Do it have to be the slabs? Sure, you already have them. But with paving stones, I could imagine it might be easier to "adjust". Then you could more or less evenly absorb the slope at the beginning of the path and make it straight over the first 1-2 meters depending on the situation.

Well, not necessarily, but it would make sense ;) I've also been thinking about just laying the 20x20cm tiles in the front area so I could better adjust the slope. I still have some of the 20x20 left. I think I'll try it somehow. The tiles are only laid in gravel, if necessary I'll lay 2m and see how it goes. It would be too nice if something would go smoothly without problems ;)

Good morning,
a small update regarding the path. We have now set the curbstones flush on both sides and paved the path "diagonally." In theory, the height difference looked worse than it actually is in the end. The path is not completely finished yet; I still need to cut the remaining stones over the weekend, but the path can now be walked well and the "diagonal" is not as bad as expected ;)

Another advantage: no puddles will form ;)
