Should the path to the garage be made "slanting" or with a small "step"?!?

Hello everyone,
we would like to create a small path (approx. 5m long and 72cm wide - curbstones each 6cm pls 1 stone with 40cm and one with 20cm width) from the driveway to the platform where the stairs to the house lead.
Now I have the question, if I place the curbstones so that they are flush with the platform and also flush with the curbstone at the back of the driveway, then the path would run a bit "diagonal" because, for example, the platform probably has a slope of 2-3cm over 1m and at the back of the driveway the area towards the house is also higher.
I hope you understand what I mean. Or should I lay the curbstones at one height, then I would have a small step at the platform and on the other side. What tips do you have? Thank you.

How the string for the curbstones is stretched should work well. Or is there also a granite edge (setting step?) of the podium on the side?

My problem is, if I now set the other curbstones to the same height as the existing curbstones, then I would have an edge here at the [Podes]. The platform has a slope, and therefore the curbstone would not be flush with the platform if it were the same height as the other curbstone. Hope you understand what I mean ;)

No idea if that's a problem. Just wanted to know how to do it "right," whether to let the path run diagonally or not. Maybe now a trained landscape gardener will say that one would never do it that way and that you definitely can't let the path run somewhat diagonally. But that would be my preference, purely from an aesthetic point of view. Just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks.

Then stretch a string on the other side as well. Then place the boards exactly at the slope between the two strings.
