Should the electrical connection be installed by the supplier or by the civil engineer?

Good day,

I hope I have chosen the right subforum. Otherwise, it can be moved gladly. ;)

The shell is now up, the windows are in, and this week the roof will be covered. In two weeks, the partition walls (Gypsum board) will be installed.

Slowly the question of the house connections arises, and today the local energy supplier (Thüringen Energie) is coming to discuss details. The connection costs around 2000 € including civil engineering; with own civil engineering, 90 € will be reimbursed. Excavation of about 8-9 m is necessary.

Now to the question:
Our site manager from the main contractor advises us to have the civil engineering work for electricity done together with those for water and wastewater. Although the 90 € savings would not cover the costs, coordination would be easier.
The network operator says that he prefers to have the excavation done himself because when laying simultaneously with water/wastewater, a stepped trench must be created.
It is important to know that all connections are located at one point on the property.

How has this been done with you?

Many thanks

Marko

At our place, the general contractor laid a corresponding empty conduit from the property boundary to the house connection right during the earthworks. Water/sewage lines were also pulled all the way to the house at the same time, so that digging was only necessary once.

Yes, we had hoped for that too, but it was not planned that way by the site manager. The question has become irrelevant, since the road has to be crossed for the electrical connection. The other utilities are already on the property. The energy supplier should just do that for the fixed price.
