Should interior window sills be installed before or after the interior plaster?

Actually nothing, but having the plasterer last is the more practical order, precisely because of the reworking. If he leaves out the affected corners and only does them after the window sill installer, it's practically patchwork. Plaster is supposed to be plaster, not plaster on the surface but filling at the connections.
Even more so. But it would also be nonsense if the plasterer comes and just mentally places the window sills: they are not pushed in precisely but set in a bed, so there has to be some play during installation. And you don't want to close that with a joint or filler. So from my point of view, it only looks neat if the order is right.
You also don't just slip the floor slab underneath, just because the bricklayer has time earlier.

Yes, that's how it is. When everything is already plastered and then the man with the windowsills comes, he complains the first time when he has to chisel off the plaster on the left and right. With maybe 20 windows in a new building, that is not only annoying but also takes a lot of time, which should somehow show up in the bill.

Then the plasterers have to come back and plaster in 20 windowsills, which again costs quite a bit of time and money.

In theory, it is possible. The window openings are already built. You just have to know how thick the window frame profile is and at what distance from the outer wall / inner wall they are installed. This is indeed handled differently at times. But if you know all the measurements and know how far the windowsill should protrude into the room, the appropriate size can be calculated. But here too: complicated, time-consuming, not recommended...

Best regards

Axel

In the end, after renovation, it will look like that, with a silicone orgy and so on. So plastering right up to windows that are not yet there, I would advise against that (as a long-suffering former window manufacturer).

Correct. That’s exactly why I ended with: cumbersome, time-consuming, not recommended ...
