Granite is definitely "the best". In the old house, we have aluminum window sills on which the rain patters quite loudly. Also, it doesn't go well with clinker bricks. Better to have a roll layer then. We have the same window color and red facing bricks, the window sills are brushed Nero Assoluto. Matte is somehow easier to maintain.

If I had a brick facade, my window sills would be a built-up drip course (observe the slope)!

I regret every time it rains a bit heavier that we didn't invest "the few euros" in granite window sills.

We have aluminum windowsills, there has also been heavier rain. So far, everything is fine for me. It is possible to make mistakes in detail (installation of the windowsills), I may also have hearing difficulties, it may also be relevant that the patio doors on the weather side do not have windowsills (terrace extended and gutter in front of the door).

You surely also have triple-glazed windows?

Yes, we have triple glazing. The rain isn’t that crazy, but compared to the neighboring house with granite window sills, it is definitely noticeably louder.

And: Our bed is located right under the window on the weather side. Sometimes that is quite annoying.

For us, that would have been an extra 300 to 400 euros for the 16 windows. And it annoys me that I didn’t invest in that.
