Set the window 1-2 cm inward so that the fly screen fits

Hello.

In my previous house, I installed flat roller shutter rails, and whenever I wanted to install a fly screen (even with a flat frame) on the window, it became problematic with the roller shutter being too close to the window.
I then partially loosened the roller shutter rails and used washers to create some distance from the window so that the roller shutter could pass by the window, certainly not professional, but it couldn’t be helped.
In the newly planned solid house, the general contractor said that the roller shutter rails should only be installed after the exterior plaster, because otherwise you can never do anything on the roller shutter again if the rails are plastered in; is that correct?

The position of the roller shutter is actually defined by the built-in box that contains the roller shutter.
Is it possible to set the window 2 cm inward and possibly use roller shutter rails that are thicker, or attach them to the window with a 2 cm spacer profile?

Who defines the position of the window on the 36.5 cm wall, meaning how far out or in the window must be?

Regards, Ralf

I was at a construction site yesterday, and the plasterers happened to be working on the exterior plaster.

The roller shutter rails were plastered in.

I wonder how you can later replace the roller shutter or repair anything when they are plastered in.

I also found a guide profile with a gap, but the question for me remains when the roller shutter rails are installed, before or after the exterior plaster.

What does your GÜ say about your wish regarding the fly screens? It’s no use to you to get a proposed solution here in the forum if it also still needs to be implemented. Therefore, you have to talk to the GÜ anyway.

That is defined by the roller shutter box installed above it. Depending on how far out its "slot" is, through which the slats run down the guides onto the windowsill. When using venetian blinds, the measurement is logically different again, because the curtain requires significantly more space in front of the window. Accordingly, the windows are then positioned further inside or outside, depending on the type of shutter box and the type of shading.

There is no general measurement. Shutter box manufacturer A may have the same measurement X to the outside for all wall thicknesses, manufacturer B the same measurement Y for all wall thicknesses.

I know it like this, that you can open the box from the inside and then also take out the roller shutter from there. In our case, the rails were also plastered in. But who knows, maybe there are other constructions. However, the window installer should say that, not the plasterer...

The boxes are also available with an external inspection opening. I have also considered that idea due to the thermal bridge despite insulation in the lintel box. That may be practical for bungalows, but absolutely impractical on the upper floor. Unless you like setting up scaffolding to get to it for maintenance. Plastering in the rails makes sense to me because inspection from the inside is possible. If something is wrong with the armor, you usually have to completely thread it out to be able to replace individual slats. I also think it looks better.
