I am still in the planning stage of buying an old semi-detached house.
The house only has oil stove heating ... that’s just not acceptable :-)

So I want to switch to natural gas central heating - gas is available in the street but there is no connection - so I have to have one installed.

The house has 2 floors for living (100m) with 2 rooms and a bathroom on each level ...

In other words, pipes need to be laid / radiators installed and the burner has to go in the basement -

I just need a rough estimate (+-1000) of the costs I can expect or should expect.

Or is it better to stay with oil? There are oil tanks in the garage and a pipe to the house that supplies the stove...

If I switch to gas, I assume I will have to dispose of the tanks....

Hello,

for a gas connection you can expect to pay between €3,000 and €5,000, depending on the length and conditions. The heating system itself is probably also in the range of €6,000 to €8,000 depending on the required heating capacity. As for the pipes and all further installations, the effort is hard to estimate but will also be over €5,000. What is not quite clear to me yet is whether you would already have to do something with the oil system or if the replacement can still wait? If the replacement is already necessary anyway, then switching to a gas condensing boiler is certainly highly recommended. Otherwise, you might consider waiting until the usual service life of 20-25 years is reached and then replacing the system. But then you will have a construction site a few years later in an occupied house as opposed to the option to do everything now before you move in.

Best regards
Erik from [moderne-heizung]

I once contacted 2 companies directly - then started a request for a cost estimate through 2 intermediary platforms -
reaction zero :-(
I called one ... he didn’t even want to look at the house ....
Could it be that the installers have no time/desire in winter?

I assume that I won’t get heating installed in winter anymore
the question is if it still makes sense to buy the house then, a bridge financing over the winter will surely also be extremely complex...
