Our "professionals" try to talk us out of profiles with click systems or those fixed too close to the floor as being complicated. Instead, they recommend self-adhesive ones and, when asked whether this would not hinder the expansion of the parquet, they respond that 3-layer wooden parquet only expands a few millimeters. However, parquet manufacturers usually require an expansion gap of 1mm/m. What experience do you have with self-adhesive transition profiles, have there been any problems (e.g., floorboards lifting or warping, profiles coming loose)?

Maybe I did not understand the question correctly and my answer does not fit. If that is the case, please ignore.

My parents have a fully glued solid oak parquet with strip lengths of about 4 x 30 cm in the living and dining area. There are no visible expansion joints over a length of about 14m. The parquet has been in place for 49 years and shows no problems. It has been sanded twice and occasionally resealed.

Expansion is minimal when the parquet is installed over a well-sealed construction. Then you also do not have to worry much about expansion. This sealing can be achieved with the 3 layers. How the execution is in the specific product must then be seen.

Sorry, part of this information was missing in my question. Our parquet is a floating installed multi-layer floor made of 1-strip country house planks.

how about fitted cork strips? That is the more elegant option compared to any kind of profiles and clearly the method of choice.

Apart from that, I can't imagine that self-adhesive profiles have enough strength to influence the movement of wood in any way.

Leave out the profile and use either cork or oak silicone.
