We will also have clear glass installed in both bathrooms. And then light gray pleated blinds. You can't even make out silhouettes there.

We are currently also facing the decision and are still uncertain. Pleated blinds are not a bad solution, but I can't quite come to terms with them. Additionally, we have cats, and I suspect that the things would be scratched within a few months.

At the moment, we are considering having the windows only partially frosted. So, for example, the lower half frosted, the upper half clear glass, or only one third frosted and two thirds clear glass. This way, you would at least have privacy in the most important areas while still being able to look outside. Completely frosting is out of the question for us; that would make me feel like I'm in a windowless room. I'd rather have clear glass completely and a pleated blind.

So we also have two cats and they have never gone to the blinds, curtains or furniture. But that really depends on your cats, do they scratch furniture or similar things so far? If they don't do that and are given enough alternatives like a scratching post, toys, etc., I don't think you need to worry about that.

They don’t scratch the furniture, but sometimes the curtains and one cat also scratches the windows (when it wants to go in or out). A scratching post, plenty of toys, a conspecific (so 2 cats), part-time outdoor access, and lots of attention from us humans are available (we are basically cat freaks ), but that still doesn’t stop the cats from messing with the curtains . I’m reconsidering the pleated blinds. Maybe the cats shouldn’t be allowed in the bathroom anyway, that’s at least the plan, it’s just a question of whether we will really keep it that way permanently... probably not .

Well, if pleated blinds are out because of the cats, only window film remains. It comes in all varieties and, if I'm not mistaken, is also only transparent on one side.

We have 5 cats and blinds... The things don't move, so they are uninteresting for cats and they also don't want to get in or out through the bathroom window (they already scratch at the windows/doors through which they want to get in or out). Unless they are the full-on terrorist cats that really scratch everything to pieces, I wouldn't have any concerns there.
