Security deposit according to §650 of the Building Code

hello, how did you handle that with R u. V? we are in the same situation: suddenly our construction company is demanding a security (guarantee), although they initially waived it; I have called several insurance companies (including R. u. V), but unfortunately only received a refusal that they do not issue security for private builders.

Hello Sue, I have checked: we have taken out our guarantee with the "Schutzgemeinschaft für Baufinanzierende e.V." Cost: approx. €200 for a 1-year term. You need a current Schufa report (it took 10 days), after filling out X forms you get the guarantee relatively quickly. Good luck!

You did everything right. He cannot change the contract to your disadvantage. However, he has power = stops the trades. Did something happen beforehand?

no not at all, no payment arrears, rather the opposite: he does not adhere to the contracts, tries to put pressure on us so that I do not post anything negative about his company, defects are downplayed, I suspect that he has not yet found a company for one trade (drilling) and is trying to buy time with it, started doing this when we reported defects

Have you asked the [GU] about the binding nature of your contract?
What does the [RA] say about it?
