and are going a nice path. They come up with automation scenarios and then implement them. The joy that it succeeds is huge and priceless. That’s how a happy hobby works. The fascination of stepping onto this playground is completely understandable to me, even though I have decided against it.
Most important aspects: 1. I do not want to become the system administrator in my wife’s life – and she doesn’t want that either. Everyone can independently understand and operate the basic functions in the house without a manual, without interfering anywhere. 2. Surveillance does not appeal to me. Therefore, there are no devices that could store who is where in the house and when, and certainly not what the person says or does. 3. With our parents, we could observe that things not learned in childhood were forgotten again. This includes the operation of touch dimmer light switches or devices with menu navigation. If at all, I want to come into the situation of no longer understanding my own house as late as possible. The scene where my father realized he couldn’t turn on the light has stuck with me. I’m not going in that direction.
Before anyone thinks that I therefore generally reject home automation – no, I do not make my attitude the standard for others.
