It was just one example, admittedly quite expensive.

You can get this type of chair for less than half the price (then without buffalo leather ). Although of course I have not yet seen one for the price of the "Silas" you mentioned above. But the question was only about alternatives, not about saving money, or did I misunderstand you?

Personally, I am now so fed up with all the "discount store stuff" that I would rather buy used "quality," or in your case start with 2-3 chairs for the family, than get upset about Ikea and the like again.

Uncomfortable, my sister also said to the Silas. Maybe you are right and we will keep looking for a while longer.

So today we went to a furniture store again for the Sunday shopping event and found some nice cantilever chairs - unfortunately I forgot what they're called - Bonatum/Bonaldo (?!) or something like that.

They had a freely selectable pattern for the backrest and the connection to the seat was made of oak. Very very cozy - €330 ~ per chair.

Anyone have an idea which company it could be? Of course, they’re not available in the furniture store's online shop -.-
If necessary, I’ll go there again; but it's so far away...

Oh, the 339,- for the buffalo leather were too expensive for the fancy gentleman and now he’s looking at ones for 330,-

When googling, you can find "Bonaldo" as the manufacturer (or also Bontempi), but I didn’t find any dining chairs quickly. If in doubt, maybe just call them, they will surely draw the right conclusions from your fragmentary information.

I’m glad you found something

Yes, we'll see - it would already be over the planned budget
But we'll see what remains of the house in the end.
