Screw foundation as a cost-effective alternative to a slab?

No, the concrete slab is completely omitted. On the stilts, a beam construction with wooden panels is placed. It’s basically like an intermediate ceiling with insulation. To have additional protection against moisture from below, cement-bonded chipboards are to be used in our case. On top of that comes insulation, underfloor heating, etc. Therefore, this whole system is only interesting for timber construction. After the past days, I see another advantage. In heavy rain, the water can simply flow underneath the house to a certain extent. The concrete slab should of course not be flooded. Even then, it can dry out again. But I don’t see any problem with that in our case anyway. We live on a ridge with a slight slope and have a gravelly and thus well-drained subsoil.

The shoemaker should stick to his last and the architect should stick to his frost-proof foundation?

Many years ago, I helped friends move a Bavarian log house from the 18th century. If I hadn't already been convinced of timber construction before, I certainly was afterward. Movable AND very stable. You just have to deal with possible changes, but half-timbered houses have often stood for hundreds of years and are mostly admired as particularly charming.

Presumably, it depends greatly on the ground as to how quickly and strongly such movements will occur, but it seems sensible to me to also use the advantages of wood in this regard.

Recently, I started a topic to which I have not received any answers so far (which is no longer necessary now).

These screw anchors are probably even smarter than the slender concrete posts I had planned...

Hi Schwabe23!
How have you done it now? We are also leaning towards screw foundations. I have already called Staudenschreiner, Mr. Prinz has helped me a lot. He would have helped me even more, but now I have found a carpentry in Mainz that has already made the floor slab from cross-laminated timber or as a timber frame construction. We are excited. I am now looking for information about the "frost-proof enclosure," since we will have 30-50 cm of air under the wooden slab. The water should not freeze in winter :)
Thanks,
Greetings
Pascal

I will also try it directly in the first post:

We are currently in the first concrete thinking steps for a house. One thing is certain: it should be made of wood (exactly how is open) and on screw foundations. Actually, we had already chosen a company and had already been to the factory, but they have recently become insolvent...
Therefore, my question goes beyond experiences; I would also like to know if anyone knows companies (other than Staudenschreiner, we are too far away from them) that install such foundations or even better, as general contractors, build houses as turnkey as possible. Google is really not very helpful here.
I am located in the Trier area, so the carpentry from might even be an option.

Thank you very much in advance
