Carpet absorbs sound, that's true, but unfortunately it's not an option for us and in the bathroom where there are tiles, the vibration is also present.

You say you are ready to move out and bear the costs (I think little can be done legally about that). Are you aware of how high the costs are? New screed + floor coverings + possibly underfloor heating + first removing the old one. I’m not very knowledgeable about the costs, but it feels like we’re quickly at €50k and more. Are you aware of that?

Hello ,

No, nothing can be done legally, that is also not our intention, since we have basically done the interior construction ourselves through third-party providers, recommendations are not a binding obligation. We are well aware that with professional support the costs of the measure go far beyond €50k and are also willing to invest if the house thereby obtains an acceptable living condition.

Attached are also two photos of the floor construction.

I would be very grateful for information on experts who can help further.

Best regards woodhouse

That has already been done! You can read about it in my post. Additionally, I would like to point out that all rising components should be checked once to see if there are any sound bridges. One or two spots per room are enough to completely negate the sound insulation, just as a side note. Otherwise, the construction shown in the photos gives the appropriate impression I had already described. Comments like "suitable for flowing screeds" etc. miss the point by a mile. The decisive factor for impact sound insulation is the so-called "spring behavior," so that the impact sound insulation truly deserves its name! There are no low-cost versions in the case described here! Replacing the impact sound insulation with mineral wool seems unavoidable if you want to achieve the goal. However, the "goal" in a timber construction like in this case means that an impact sound behavior, as expected for compact construction with concrete slab, i.e., impact sound insulation and mineral screed, cannot be achieved. ------- Greetings to everyone: KlaRa
