We do not want the small guest bathroom window and the over 3m long stairwell window to have clear glass. The neighbors are very close. What would be more advisable and why? So frosted glass or satin glass? Which looks more valuable? And can you get a window over 3m long in one piece or is it usually split into two?

I would use clear glass and apply the film. If you don't like it after all, you can remove it quickly.

Sorry, I have little time this week for my usual suggestion service, but the topic of frosted glass is a (current) FAQ, and even for 3m high windows, builders have already had to experience that not everything you can draw is actually made that way. It is basically possible if you are willing to pay a "highlight" price for it – but for glass (and frames) above 240 cm in height, you will regularly be advised to have two-part elements. I wouldn't want this "choice" between the devil and the deep blue sea either (a cumbersome opening sash or the entire window as a fixed element). Do yourself a favor and consider an uneven three-part division, making one opening sash that repeats the color of the front door. Evenly two- or three-part windows in such cases immediately make the viewer think "that was probably too expensive as a single piece."

I have already read old posts. But I haven't really found anything about frosted glass. Only that pleated blinds and adhesive films were discussed. I'm interested in frosted glass vs. satin glass. I also don't know how I am supposed to accurately apply a film to the 3 m long glass.

Frosted glass is smooth. Isn't [Milchglas] bumpy? Or are both ultimately the same?
