I think no - the rough opening remains the same. Of course, the opening wing must observe the fall height everywhere.

Ever dealt with good adhesion foils? They are not much cheaper than frosted glass, but much more flexible. And since they are only attached with a bit of water, they can be used any number of times or corrections can be made if they were applied crookedly or if there’s still a bubble inside.

Even better are slides with microchannels like in cars. These are bonded dry. We have done this now.

If it fits financially, consider dealing with liquid crystal glass.
