Hello,

as already mentioned above, under a bathtub the underfloor heating is normally omitted and the tub is even placed directly on the raw floor without screed.

Therefore, I would also recommend either installing a complete and functional tub or leaving it out entirely.

I do not consider it necessary to think ahead for a potential buyer – the likelihood that they would want exactly the same size bathtub there as you might be pre-installing now is very low.

Regards,

Dirk

Hello Gisela, it is of course possible to install the bathtub outlets concealed without hygienic problems due to water stagnation in the pipe.

The drinking water pipes are to be installed in a series or ring system, for which special wall plates are necessary. These wall plates, for example at your bathtub connection, ensure that the pipe system is always completely flushed when water is drawn.

Of course, these pipe systems exist for all common pipe materials; this is simply the state of the art today.

Now to making your bathtub connections invisible. The simplest way is that the connections extend about 5mm past the tiles and are covered with a rosette with a blind plug.

Completely invisible, the connections remain capped hidden under the tile. After rough installation, take a few pictures of the bathtub connections to be hidden and measure very precisely. When selling the house, all installation instructions, pipe routing plans, etc. are handed over anyway.

For example, after my renovation, I photographed all pipe installations with a tape measure laid on them. Ultimately from my own experience that I drilled into a water pipe I had laid 4 years earlier. This would not have happened if I had taken the trouble to photograph and measure. With today’s digital photography and storage, this costs only a few cents.
