I wish you a nice holiday,
we want to renovate in the fall. During the planning, we wondered if it makes sense (work, time, money) to insulate the roof anew on this occasion (the panels on the 2nd floor will be removed anyway).
Currently, the entire roof truss is lined with glass wool. This is partially detaching, so that the roof tiles are visible from the inside.
Furthermore, daylight is visible in various places, for example where the chimneys are positioned. A draft is noticeable in some spots.
Questions:
We are considering insulation between and under the rafters + vapor barrier foil:
We find mineral wool (formaldehyde-free) appealing:
Finally:
If fully insulated:
I hope I didn’t overwhelm anyone with my first post + best regards

Questions:
[*]Does new insulation noticeably save heating costs?
[*]It gets VERY hot on the 2nd floor in summer, staying there is almost unbearable. Does new insulation improve this?
We are considering insulation between and under the rafters + vapor barrier foil:
[*]Which materials make sense in terms of price-performance?
We find mineral wool (formaldehyde-free) appealing:
[*]What does something like this cost per m²?
Finally:
[*]Is the entire roof insulated or only the actual attic (there are also sloped ceilings on the 2nd floor)?
If fully insulated:
[*]Can you easily get past the insulation material and the foil on the floor (attic), or how does that work?
I hope I didn’t overwhelm anyone with my first post + best regards
