Hello everyone,
I have a question: We have a Faktum kitchen (this basic model). But we used the original space for a dishwasher for an additional base cabinet. Now we have been given a dishwasher as a gift and would like to integrate it into the kitchen. For that, we would remove the base cabinet and integrate the dishwasher. Is it really that simple? Because the Faktum legs of the cabinets simultaneously support 2 cabinets. So can you just pull out one cabinet without the other cabinet becoming unbalanced?
I would be glad if someone could help!

Best regards

hello, it is best to support and reposition the feet. a more precise procedure is difficult to describe without knowing the installation situation (in which cabinets the feet are located, which cabinet is just resting on...)

Attention: Do not forget to nail a steam barrier under the kitchen countertop in front of the dishwasher (nails are sufficient). Exactly where the steam rises up to the countertop when the door is opened.

The dishwasher should be installed so that the steam cannot float backwards under the kitchen countertop. (let alone into the device itself, where the electronics are)

Furthermore

- Screw the device level in place from front to back with the feet up to the countertop! (using the adjustable feet, if available)

- Screw the device to the base cabinet (if possible with the third-party device)

- Connection hoses must not have kinks or constrictions behind the device and must not hang up on the back side as they might be delivered during transport, but should run down to the floor without constrictions or kinks, also not passing through potential other base cabinets/built-in devices that may be added or pushed in later (kink means the hose is pinched)

- Actually, only integrated devices are designed and suitable for integration. There are several reasons for this, also related to safety. It starts with the steam barrier, which primarily concerns the kitchen countertop, but steam must not enter the device interior (electricity, electronics!)

- Without a steam barrier, the countertop will quickly swell, which may require a new custom countertop with cutouts for the sink and stove, which may no longer be available in the right color and type and might only be replaced with great effort, cost, and work due to silicone seams and tile backsplashes (also made of wood)

Some pictures on the topic of steam protection and dishwasher base/integration can be found on Go*gle by searching for the keywords "Geschirrspüler" and "dampfschutz". (I do not want to provide an unstable link here)

And if a dishwasher is not level (propped up with the most absurd things, like bricks, etc.), one should not be surprised by malfunctioning. The water in the dishwasher also follows gravity. And the designers of the devices know that too

Hello everyone,
thank you for the answers. So I can’t say exactly which cabinet is just sitting on top, etc. since my boyfriend did this. But it basically seems to work. So we will definitely try it.
Thank you also for the installation tips. Otherwise, we definitely wouldn’t have considered the [Dampfschutz].

I’ll get in touch gladly when we have succeeded.

Many thanks
