Hello,

unfortunately, we did not order it directly, so our sockets in the children's rooms are not specially protected but normal standard sockets. However, before I stick these plastic plates in, I wanted to check if it is possible to replace the socket insert? I am unsure because I just read that it is not permitted to retrofit a normal socket with a socket with increased contact protection. Allegedly, you are not allowed to change the "socket dimensions"...??

Since protection is not needed forever, temporary protection is completely sufficient. We had plastic inserts inside, which we could even pass on to other families later.

Hello,

At first, we had the glued-in plastic tabs as child safety locks in the sockets throughout the house because of our children. These gradually came loose, so they were unreliable. Additionally, they reduce the coverage of the electrical contacts because the plug can no longer be fully inserted.
Because one of our children is a "particularly curious, adventurous boy," I promptly retrofitted the sockets available from the socket manufacturer (with us Busch-Jäger) with touch protection for our entire house.
They offer one more safety advantage over the plastic tabs: it is not possible to overcome only one of the two touch protections. Both touch protections must always be pressed simultaneously; otherwise, both block.
All this is worth the money to us. Whether it is exaggerated or not: it gives us a significantly better sense of security regarding the sockets throughout the entire house with our children.
We wish the electrician had offered us this option when building the house. We think it is important!

Many greetings from Hamburg,
Michael

We have them too. However, from the beginning. [Dose und Durchmesser] should be identical.

Our protection was screwed in and could be unscrewed again with the plug of an electrical device. So, if you needed the socket for vacuuming, for example, it could be done in no time.

The ones with touch protection look normal. No protection that pinches, catches, or can be pulled out by children. The retrofitted ones are more of a mommy protection
