Hello dear ones,

since the construction of our house is about to start soon, we went to a bathroom showroom today and got advice on the equipment and design of our bathroom and made a selection.

However, this bathroom showroom only offered Resopal panels for wall and floor design as well as for the walk-in shower and said that it is probably about 1/3 cheaper than tiles. Now I wanted to find out if that is really the case? The effort to install them seems to be much less.

How durable are these panels?

What are the disadvantages of Resopal compared to tiles?

Does anyone of you perhaps have an idea?

Greetings
Tobi

We have in our renovated place a kitchen from 1954, which has been moved once since then and continuously used by a family with two children, then by the couple alone until both passed away at the age of 96 and 97 respectively.

The cabinets are solid, the fronts made of Resopal panels. I had to partially sand the inside of the cabinets – I cleaned the Resopal panels with dish soap. They look like new after 64 years of use.

It is, for example, much more scratch-sensitive. Aluminium-Dibond is still used for large formats.
