Good evening,

the underfloor heating in my bathroom is "acting up". it works, but only heats the floor very lukewarm, on level 6.

a friend dismantled the temperature controller and found a burnt spot on the resistor and said that it probably does not switch to the higher levels.

this is an older switch from eberle electronics, type 52521, 220v, 50hz, ac 250v, 16a. the sticker on the inside also includes the information 20T 40/70 4K/n.

now to my dilemma. according to the previous owner of the apartment, the switch was installed around 2005. there are spare parts with the article number 52521, but modernized etc. and about twice as expensive.

i need advice on purchasing and possibly also on installation. on ebay and google there are a whole range of eberle switches, all very fancy, visually matching and in a price range that i find acceptable, about 20-30€. but which one is the right one? and can it be installed the same way as the old one?

i hope the pictures i have uploaded help the community here to help me and i look forward to an active exchange of information.

thank you and have a nice evening

dominik

It is actually not a problem to connect a different thermostat to the underfloor heating.
Your little darling seems to have a floor sensor connected.
If this is defective, I believe it heats at about 30%.
I just want to say that if this topic is unfamiliar to you, it’s better to have an electrician or installer with the appropriate knowledge take a look.

Of course, you can also connect a new thermostat yourself and see if anything changes, but the labeling of the terminal strip will very likely not correspond to your old one.

hello,

thank you very much for the response.

a professional will definitely come to the house, at least one for electrical engineering, since an outdoor light switch still needs to be installed. I do NOT "tinker" around with that!

could you possibly find a switch for me with which I can replace the broken one, for example on ebay? so that I don’t give the installer the wrong one, as his costs are also about 80€ plus installation.

thank you and have a nice evening.
