hi

we already have some pretty old seals in our windows that are partially quite brittle. now my questions: can I replace these seals myself? where can I get such seals? do I need to pay attention to anything special when replacing them?

regards oobravo

Hi, I would first inquire at a specialist retailer because surely not all seals fit every window. Once you have removed the rubber strips, the new ones should fit perfectly; otherwise, there will be drafts, and you surely don’t want that. It would be better to have a professional come and do it for you.

Hi, you can easily do that yourself, at the hardware store there are all kinds of seals to buy. Take a piece of the old seal with you so you can compare if it is still available. Anything is better than brittle seals because with those you are heating the street and not your apartment as it should be.

hi

thank you for your responses. we have now arranged it this way since it is anyway the landlord's matter to have them replaced. a professional was there and he did it properly. now it doesn't drag as much anymore.

best regards.oobravo

Hi, thanks for the tip, because we were already about to do it ourselves. But if that is the landlord's responsibility, then that's even better. Because it would have been quite expensive for us, as we have very many windows in the house.
