Hi,
I have a somewhat older Pax (2001) and now want to replace the doors (2x folding doors, 2x mirrors) with sliding doors.
The wardrobe is constructed as follows:
1m with a folding door, 2x50 with drawers and above that two mirrored doors over the drawers, and then another 1m folding door.
This should ideally be replaced with 3x1m sliding doors, but Ikea in Ludwigsburg/Tamm said this is not possible and you have to use 2x 1.50m instead.
The employee said that with a ceiling height of 2.40m you can’t even install those, or at most only slide them in from the side. But this is not possible in the bedroom due to lack of space.
Since I have never installed sliding doors before, my experience and alternative installation options are naturally very limited, and I hope for some assistance here.
Is there also an option to hang the doors? How much space is needed at the top then?
It would be great if someone maybe has pictures of the installation or could scan the installation manual. Just spending about 500€ only to find out it doesn’t work would be a bit stupid :-/
Regards, Lars
