Remove window frame color

Hello specialists,

I would like to paint my house. The owner of a painting company has already been to me regarding the right paint and primer. He told me that the paint on the metal cladding and window surrounds must be removed and the wooden parts sanded. Here is a picture of the house:



However, he couldn’t really give me any advice on how to remove the paint from the surrounds. For the metal parts, I should try with a scraper and sand the wooden parts. Has anyone of you had any experience with this? Since I want to do it myself and it will be a "one man show," I am grateful for any tips so that I can finish the work quickly.

Would you like to recolor it to a less nice color to dampen the neighbors' envy? - to me it looks like an "after picture" :-)

Admittedly, the picture is already 10 years old and a bit of color is now appropriate. The base will be a bit darker. We want to apply the rest of the color in this style again. Although bright window sills get dirty quickly. Can you answer my questions?

Sanding with 120 grit using an orbital sander and then by hand, then priming and painting.

Are these wooden windows with insulating glazing? Real window crosses?
