Hello everyone,

although it is not really about construction law, maybe someone still has experience with something like this or owns a company themselves and knows the procedure.

In the single-family house we bought, a company was previously registered. Our address still appears everywhere on the internet, which of course we do not want. What options do we have? Are we allowed to report the previous owner? To the district court? I have read that there can be severe penalties if the company is not deregistered.

The seller is really playing deaf and not doing anything at all.

Thanks and regards

How long ago was that? Re-registering is something different than being listed in telephone book portals and search engines. You are not obligated to be there, but you are asked every six months whether the entries are still valid. The problem then (or formerly) was also that portals simply pulled data from other portals. I was also listed with my secondary occupation in portals I didn't even know. It was resolved for me by updating Google. Try it with Google: you can update current information, even if you don't own the company. I think that's still possible.

The internet is big... where exactly is it? Google Maps? Company website?

If you enter a company in the search, a window with location, phone number, etc. is displayed on the right. It should work via this window. I can't really "reproduce" or verify this right now either, since I am only on my phone.

Company knowledge, industry directory, my-hammer...
Google actually not, the company is not listed there (neither here nor at the new address)

Well, if Google doesn't know the company, then it won't bring you much "traffic" ;-)
Is the company bankrupt and are you expecting free debt collectors ;-) who will knock on your door with a battering ram or steal your Lamborghini as a down payment?
