Relocating the construction water connection yourself, what does the connection look like?

It was a casual joke on my part ;) I am aware of how it works in practice, according to your explanation. On the other hand, I also say that especially in construction with general contractors, flat-rate demands are often written into the construction service descriptions/contracts, such as construction water/standpipe, for example. In practice, I have seen multiple times that the clients set up everything based on these demands at a high cost, which in the end is not or barely used in everyday construction.

So with us, the construction water was taken via a standpipe from a public hydrant on Baustraße. You probably could have only moved it with enormous costs and after approval procedures. The following points might help you: - The civil engineer actually doesn’t need construction water at all - The portable toilet has its own water tank at the sink, which is filled by the service vehicle during the weekly cleaning - Our shell builder had an IBC container with him and only needed very little water (thin-bed mortar for Poroton). Concrete was delivered ready by concrete mixer - We only needed a standpipe when the interior and exterior plastering (and then the screed) came - I would always turn the standpipe off in the evening and bring it inside. Our municipal utilities required a €1,000 deposit. But it’s just two simple steps, screwing the pipe on and off, then it’s done. In our construction area, someone once left the pipe standing overnight and a neighbor ran it over with the car. The fountain went over our house roof and we are glad the basement didn’t flood. Maybe an idea for you: - When the crane is set up, point out that the hydrant must remain free. You hardly need any space for the standpipe. So that should still work - If it’s a new development area or there are already neighbor houses, just ask if you can connect a hose. Get a cheap water meter from the hardware store, attach it there, and round the payment up generously, paired with a crate of beer. Neighbors here did the same. - Once the interior plaster is finished, at least where the washing machine will go, a simple water tap can already be installed and the regular house water can be used. Tilers etc. don’t need much water. That no longer justifies a standpipe.

Information from our construction company (currently the floor slab is in place and the wall formwork is lying next to it) only from a standing shell construction is construction water needed

So it should work like this too, fingers crossed

The concrete pump is cleaned at the factory at our request for 235 euros incl. VAT, because we did not know what kind of "concrete surface puddle" we would find on the property after the cleaning. I will know more for the next house construction. ;-) Thank you. That really cheers me up. :) My profession was somewhat similar to an accountant (although not like the accountant in the movie "The Accountant" ;-) ) and that also corresponds to my personality, which could prove to be "unhealthy" ;-) when building a house. The waiting time for a well in this region is 6-8 months, so we have postponed well construction for the time being. But it would have been a good idea. Too bad we didn’t think of it earlier, then we would have gone through with it, because constructing such a well seems easier to me than getting construction water. Our neighbors all built 10-15 years ago, but as newcomers, I don’t want to bother them immediately with a request. They already have enough inconvenience (and maybe trouble) because of our construction site. Besides, I don’t know if that might also be a criminal offense. You are not allowed to buy electricity from neighbors; water is unknown to me. That’s the only thing that worked uncomplicated and without problems. :) That means no, not quite so. I have to drive to the construction site later (Plan B) and somehow mark where the toilet is to be placed so that it is not exactly on a manhole cover or where the temporary power box is supposed to go. How I will do that, I still have to think about and appreciate any tips. It’s snowing here right now, so the sign might be covered by snow. :-( Plan A is, of course, that the company’s employees call me and I am on site when they deliver the toilet. If everyone builds more or less at the same time, that is great, then it is a mutual “give and take.” Our houses have been standing for 10-15 years, so I find it a bit difficult to do the one-sided “taking.” What is bottled water? I am simultaneously trying to get a water tank, but that is also “somehow” difficult, I just can’t find a provider around here who supplies single, small construction sites inexpensively. Off topic: Does anyone know anything about ypg? I haven’t read anything from her for some time now and am worried about her absence.

Oh, the start of our construction work (Tiefbau) has been moved up to next Monday, maybe my above answers make more sense now. When creating this thread, I did not know that, we only found out quite late yesterday. So I am diligently trying to bring everything else forward.

Bottled water is available in 1.5l containers at the supermarket of your choice ;-) You can easily wash your hands with that.

The neighbor fills the water tank with his garden hose (I think you have a building gap?)
