Hello,

regarding the following case:
We are building a house in post-and-beam construction with a prefabricated house provider. To be more precise, with Gussek Haus a myline 150 (see photos on the internet).
This series has a recessed entrance set back to the rear, which is then covered by the first floor and supported by a wooden post.

Now the question arises whether the floor slab at this point should be cut out and initially only a small foundation for the wooden beam should be created (Option A)

or

whether the floor slab should be poured completely in one piece including the entrance (Option B).

Later, it should be like this (as can also be seen in pictures of this house model on the internet) that a platform leads level to the front door and steps are in front of the platform.

What advantages or disadvantages do you see for one or the other option with regard to the issues of sealing, dirt during the construction period/cost factor (extra costs for the extension or possibly later costs to create the platform). Thanks in advance for your assessment.

Depends, among other things, on whether you want or have to insulate the [Bodenplatte]. If yes, the decision is relatively simple: an extension, in my opinion, makes little sense because you then have to thermally separate it.

If not, you can certainly do it, but you have to ask yourself how you want to realize the drainage there ([Bodenablauf], slope, etc.).

I would rather call that a notched corner. What is the standard solution from the manufacturer for this? Doesn't it also offer the floor slab? Unfortunately, there is some truth to that.

What does Gussek Haus suggest? They are not building this type of house for the first time.

Thank you for the answers.

In an earlier plan, it was marked with the extension of the base plate. In a newer one, then again without and only with the foundation around the support, which is also the solution that has already been implemented by the other builders. We will now also decide on this and thus have more flexibility regarding how we will then design the steps.
